Decision Making
Everyone has to make decisions on a daily basis. These decisions make up who you are as a person. Everyone is different, so your decisions are not necessarily what someone else would decide in the same situation. This is not a bad thing. It allows those who are able to master the art of decision making to rise above those who are unable to make the correct choices. I separate these two different kinds of people into two categories, winners and losers.
Winners make solid decisions, quickly and effectively. They have developed the skill of making the best decision possible with the best information possible in the timeliest manner. Winners know that failure is not final, it’s a learning opportunity. They recover from their poor decisions, learn from them, and become wiser.
Losers do not like to make decisions at all. They worry about who they might offend, what repercussions will be involved, and hope the decision will go away on its own. Losers will procrastinate and miss out on opportunities. If they finally make a decision, chances are it will have no momentum, no passion, and no urgency.
Now, let me explain to you why I am a winner when it comes to decision making. Over the last twenty four years of my career in sports handicapping, I have made millions of decisions. They were not always the correct one but I never made the same wrong decision twice. I was once told, “Good decisions come from experience, and experience comes from bad decisions.” The ability to harness the information learned from every decision I made in the past has transformed me into a winner.
Today, you will make countless decisions no matter of their importance. You made a decision to read this article. Was it a good one? Do you feel that you are a winner like me? I hope so! If you are not sure, make a decision right now that you will become one. It is a decision that you will never regret!
